Greetings, Earthlings!

The Velocity Saga (Shadows of Medusa, Medusa Rising, and soon, Tetrahedron) brings ‘hard’ science fiction down to Earth via the empty canvas of a present-day Mars exploration mission. In this Asimov-inspired genre, the ‘science’ precedes the ‘fiction’, yet both elements push every line in every story toward a positive, hopeful outcome – with occasional setbacks along the way.

The top goal of the Velocity Saga is edu-tainment, a seamless fusion of education and entertainment. The series achieves this goal by blending a second popular genre: mystery. Nothing is exactly what it seems. Plots evolve. Characters scheme. Actions have consequences, often unintended and dire. Plenty of clues abound, but our slightly flawed heroes don’t always connect them properly.

Can you, dear reader, connect the dots faster or better? These stories challenge every reader to THINK, not just to blindly go where the author leads. If some topic in a story grabs your interest (like, say, hydroponics), do some research to learn more about it.

The stories stretch a bit when imagining future technology without straying from realism or feasibility in the present. Every tiny morsel of science and technology has been thoroughly researched, making the content as accurate and timely as possible given the ever-changing nature of these fields.

The bottom line (literally): buckle up, and enjoy your trip to Mars!

Please consider this message from the author on how you can help develop this site - and the series!

Dear readers:

I need your help! While I enjoy researching and writing these stories, I also live a full life and work a busy schedule on the downlink teams of the New Horizons and Lucy spacecraft missions. If you can help in any of the following areas, please send me an email to “shadowsofmedusa – at – gmail – dot – com”.

  1. Proofreading and reviewing new material
  2. Ideas and suggestions
  3. AI image generation (see the ‘How Can I Help‘ page for specifics)
  4. Marketing/promoting
  5. Leave kind reviews! (on Amazon and B&N)

Thank you! Hope to hear from you soon, as our travels take us farther into the Velocity universe.

Sincerely… Brian
